Question: A person has bank accounts in 2 different countries (A & B). He has earned some interest in the bank account in country A but wants to withdraw the amount equivalent to interest earned in country A from the account in country B with the intention that he is removing the interest from his wealth. Will that be accepted as interest being withdrawn? If Mufti saheb can please provide an answer. Jazakallah khair

اَلـجَـــــوَابُ حَــامِـــــداً وَّمُــصَلِّــــياً
اَلـــسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُــــمْ وَرَحْـــمَةُ اللهِ وَبَـرَكَـاتُـــهُ
It is best to remove the actual interest funds from the account it has accumulated in as this money is filthy and not fit for one’s use. However if there is a problem and one can not manage to do so he may off set the amount using other monies at hand.
عَلَيْهِ دُيُونٌ وَمَظَالِمُ جَهِلَ أَرْبَابَهَا وَأَيِسَ) مَنْ عَلَيْهِ ذَلِكَ (مِنْ مَعْرِفَتِهِمْ فَعَلَيْهِ التَّصَدُّقُ بِقَدْرِهَا مِنْ مَالِهِ وَإِنْ اسْتَغْرَقَتْ جَمِيعَ مَالِهِ) هَذَا مَذْهَبُ أَصْحَابِنَا لَا تَعْلَمُ بَيْنَهُمْ خِلَافًا

بہتر یہ ہے کہ بینک یا ڈاخانہ میں کوئی رقم جمع ہی نہ کیا جاۓ، اگر کردی ہے تو فاضل رقم وہاں سے وصول کر کے غرباء کو دیدی جاۓ اس نیت سےکہ اللہ پاک اس کے وبال سے محفوظ رکہی یہی احوط ہے- اگر سرکاری محکمہ سے سود کی رقم حاصل ہوئی تو اس کو غیر واجبی ٹیکس میں ادا کرنا بہی درست ہے، بلکہ صدقہ مقدم ہے

He will have to remove the R8000.00 from the bank and dispose this amount in charity to a poor person (recipient of Zakaat) without any intention of reward. He should not suffice on removing the funds from his personal funds and disposing of it in lieu of the interest accrued and left behind in his bank account.
